PENTAX cares about the users’ challenges with regard to hygiene as early as in the development stage of endoscopes.

CleanCap System

• Consequently, a large number of PENTAX models (various gastroscopes, colonoscopes, duodenoscopes) are, for instance, equipped with the CleanCap System.

• A distal cap guides air and water over the objective lens, thus replacing the previous air/water jet design. The cap can be removed and replaced in no time. All channels are thus freely accessible for cleaning brushes.

• The removable distal cap offers significant advantages with regard to hygiene:

  • Preventing the nozzles from getting clogged
  • Keeping cleaning and repair costs down
  • Reducing the flow resistance during reprocessing to a considerable extent
  • Simplifying the monitoring of effective disinfection

• Thorough mechanical cleaning is a prerequisite for effective disinfection. For this reason air and water channels can be completely brushed and flushed from the LG cable connector through the control body down to the distal end.

• The deflector stay tube of the duodenoscope is entirely sealed – a design eliminating the risk of infection in this area for good.

• The control valves for air/water feeding and suction on the control body are autoclavable thus increasing hygienic safety.
